Why Greenwave is important to the shipping industry and the planet

We live in an age of consumerism. The developed countries of the west veraciously consume a vast array of manufactured products with scant regard for how they arrive on the retailer's shelf. Ninety percent of those products reach the markets of Europe and the US by sea. Many raw materials from which they are made, in the factories of Asia, also traveled to their destination by sea.

The environmental impact of shipping is substantial and not something the industry can be proud of. While there has been much discussion about this global issue there has been far less action. Maybe the sheer scale of the task has been too daunting.

All the more remarkable that Greenwave has made such astonishing progress in so short a time.

Greenwave has combined originality of thinking with a real and practical understanding of the commercial issues that the shipping industry faces. They have taken a multi-disciplined approach that might best be described as creative engineering.

The results are real and impressive. Reducing fuel consumption of ocean going cargo ships by up to twenty percent means a substantial reduction in the use of diminishing fossil fuels and a subsequent reduction in the harmful emissions that result.

Greenwave is showing the way. The industry should embrace their solutions as a matter of priority.
