Founders & History
The search for ways to reduce emissions from shipping started back in the summer of 2006 by a group of people that work in the shipping industry and wanted to research, create and promote pragmatist ways to reduce the industry?s environmental impact.
Upon discovering that renewable technologies can be introduced to ships with significant reductions in fuel and CO2 emissions, they set up the charity to develop policies and promote technologies and to avoid commercial exploitation by third parties and thus, encourage the industry to adopt them.
Greenwave was granted charity status by the UK charities commission in April 2008.
