Greenwave meets Gordon Brown

18-01-2010 by Dimitra Spatharidou

Nick and gordon

Greenwave?s Project Director, Nick Dearden, was invited in December 09 to attend a special reception at Downing Street for entrepreneurs and business people.

The prime minister expressed his deep interest in the fact that Greenwave was developing its technologies in the North East of England. Low carbon technology development seems to be high on this government’s agenda. The meeting at Downing Street included most of the UK’s top low carbon technologists and was an excellent opportunity for Greenwave to showcase its work. Mt William Hauge MP was consulted prior to the visit; his advice was for all to make the most of the opportunity and to address Gordon Brown as Prime Minister to be politically correct. The meeting with the Prime Minister was brief but succinct, as ever I was chasing government support in the way of funding opportunities. It seems the way into this is via the local Regional Development Agency. The Prime Minister was whisked away and the moment of glory was over.
